Hanging Around Graveyards

Inspiration strikes in the oddest of places… 

I’ve lived in my house, an 1860s terrace for nearly 5 years, but I’ve never explored the awesome gothicness of the overgrown church yard at the bottom of my street.

On an inappropriately hot and sunny day the other weekend (I even wore SHORTS) I went for a look. It was very lovely.

This was one of the oldest graves I think – 1700s. I liked how almost all the grave stones were engraved (beautifully) at the top, leaving a lot of space for when the rest of the family were buried in the same plot.

It’s actually a pretty massive church yard, terribly overgrown (adds to the charm) and with huge old trees.
