Varigated silk, man.

I have this lovely varigated silk in my box, from 21st Century Yarns, but not knowing how stripey it would come out, I knew whatever design I could use it on would have to be defined by shape rather than detail.

So another Eye of Horus was born. These pictures are dreadful (taken on a cameraphone) but the thread revealed some lovely things. Wound on the card it looked mainly gold and green with bits of red, but stitched up like this it reminded me of some lovely piece of expensive marble, or striated gemstone. Very Egyptian royalty, I thought.
